Visiting the Dome

Moving to the term 'Acceptance'

In order to celebrate the unique gifts of autistic people—several  autism advocacy groups created an alternative celebration called Autism  Acceptance Month. According to the Autism Acceptance Month website:

"During Autism Acceptance Month, we focus on sharing positive,  respectful, and accurate information about autism and autistic people.

"Autism Acceptance Month promotes acceptance and celebration of  autistic people as family members, friends, classmates, co-workers, and  community members making valuable contributions to our world. Autism is a  natural variation of the human experience, and we can all create a  world which values, includes, and celebrates all kinds of minds.

Moving to the term 'Appreciation'

At Fountain Head House School, we have gone that step further and believe that it is not about awareness or even acceptance, but an appreciation of.

In celebration of this important event in the year we are again using the Market Hall Dome in Plymouth to share an immersive film, made by our pupils here at Fountain Head House to showcase some of their amazing talents.

Parents and carers were invited to celebrate this with all the children and staff at Fountain Head House School at this fantastic venue.

I want to say a massive thanks to all of the Fountain Head House team for coming together to plan and deliver this event. I think you would all agree it was a roaring success!
